Interactive technology allows participants to document a community event and see the results live.
Ferndale (Sept. 15, 2009) – RingSide Creative announces media experiment as part of the DIY Street Fair this weekend. Participants can forward photos, small video clips and text messages from the festival to DIYStreetFair@gmail.com. A software compiler will filter, then sort the content into a running feed that will “mix-up” the submitted content and be projected inside the The Loving Touch pool hall next door.
RingSide Creative is hosting the Friday night Music MixUp at The Loving Touch. In addition to presenting musical act such as Patrick Davy and The Strange, the Integrated Media Studio™ wants to engage the entire community’s DIY spirit by letting them participate in the visual story telling.
“It’s a win-win,” says Jay Scott, Director of Audio Post at RSC, “We get honest and accurate documentation by the participants, and they get the chance to see how their contributions intertwine with the rest of the community.”
The RingSide Creative Music MixUp party is September 18, 8:30pm – 2am at The Loving Touch, 22634 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220. The party is part of the DIY Street Fair which takes place September 18, 19 and 20, 2009 in the Southeast quadrant of 9 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, Michigan, simultaneously with the 2009 Funky Ferndale Art Festival. The unique event celebrates homegrown, Do-It-Yourself ethic with a weekend festival featuring local businesses, artists, crafters, and forward-thinking innovators.
