DETROIT CREATIVE STUDIO CRAFTS NATIONAL PSA ON SERIOUSNESS OF FLU
OAK PARK, Mich. – Detroit area RingSide Creative is a finalist in a national contest for a one minute video Public Service Announcement (PSA) designed to raise awareness about the prevention of H1N1 virus and to promote good health practices. The contest was administered by the U.S. Health and Human Services Department and was a national call-for-entries with voting beginning August 29th – September 16th on YouTube.
The RingSide Creative submission is called “Flu Sounds” and can be viewed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrwMwcdm3BM. With the challenge to create an informative video that will motivate people to take steps to help prevent the spread of the flu, RingSide Creative developed a video that turns ordinary coughing and sniffling into a unique and memorable soundtrack.
“We saw the U.S. government’s challenge as an opportunity to create a compelling video about the seriousness of the flu and we knew it had to be dynamic to cut through the many entries,” said RingSide Creative Owner, Doug Cheek. “We leveraged all of our creative and integration capabilities, including our own sound stage, which enabled us to create the PSA quickly - from initial concept, through execution, to posting the finished video on YouTube in a matter of a few days. “It was a great opportunity to demonstrate the “100% RingSide Creative” approach to a challenging, time sensitive critical message, and at the same time hopefully influence a better outcome on this very important subject”, says Cheek.
The entire process - writing, directing, production, editing, sound design, color, set design to voice over.- was handled internally, utilizing the company’s integrated media studio approach to collaboration and execution.
